Google Business Profile video verification keeps getting rejected? Check before you film.

This checklist is for Google Business Profile (GBP) video verification: the video Google asks you to record in the Business Profile app to prove your business is real. Owners tell us the same thing: "It gets rejected every time with no reason or feedback." Answer a few questions and get a setup check plus a shot-by-shot plan for your business.

    Common questions

What does Google want to see in a verification video?

Three things in one continuous recording: where your business is (street signs, building numbers, nearby businesses), proof the business exists (signage, or for service-area businesses your tools, equipment or branded vehicle), and proof you manage it (unlocking your door or vehicle, a register, or a business document with your name).

How long should the video be?

Google asks for at least 30 seconds, recorded live and unedited from the Business Profile app on a phone.

Should a service-area business show its address?

No. Google says if you don't serve customers at your address, don't add it to your profile. You can film landmarks and signs in your neighbourhood to confirm where you operate.

Can I verify an online-only business?

No. Google says online-only businesses aren't eligible for a Business Profile.
